Achieve Your Way
Our Design Approach
The King’s Trust Australia is committed to best practices in design. To develop Achieve, we conducted thorough research, engaged the expertise of DeakinCo and The Eventful Learning Co, and collaborated with young people, educators and thought leaders through a co-design process.
The Achieve framework was developed based on the following design principles:
Simplicity
Providing straightforward solutions to address various challenges faced by young people, educators and schools.
Enterprise Skill Development
Cultivating enterprise mindsets, skills, and capabilities.
Adaptability
Being compatible with any educational environment this includes traditional pathways, like school, or non-traditional pathways.
Integration
Enhancing existing education frameworks, programs, campaigns, and initiatives within schools and the wider community.
Flexibility
Adapting to various age groups and delivery methods.
Workload Efficiency
The ability to actively and skilfully analyse, conceptualise and apply the information given to a given situation or experience in life and work to gain understanding to guide action.
Achieve employs high-impact learning design to activate skills and deepen content knowledge through experiential learning. This methodology is reproduced from High Resolves and Composer, with appropriate credit given.
The Achieve Structure
Who I Am: A foundational module rooted in research that sparks ideas for participants to identify their interests, assess their skills, and begin exploring potential career paths.
The Twenties: A dynamic collection of micro-learning activities that develop enterprise skills and increase complexity over time. The Twenties include over 80 activities, with new ones added regularly. This model allows young people to experience a sense of accomplishment quickly and build momentum as they continue to achieve new Twenties. Our curated collection of ready-to-use resources is designed to spark creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication. The Twenties activities are an innovative way to nurture enterprise skills in young people.
TAKE Action: Align with a range of established local and global organisations to work alongside them through existing social action campaigns and work experience opportunities.
MAKE Action: A choice block to start something new using refined & defined skills. Whether a social action campaign, social enterprise or engaging in work experience, MAKE action is participant-led.
Deliver Achieve Your Way
Achieve can be undertaken from as little as 10 hours.
Best practice learning science suggests that in order to reach mastery, participants must undertake a minimum of 8 Twenties which increase in complexity. This ensures a profound and increasingly challenging learning experience.
With your structure in place using all of the mastery components, your Achieve journey can take place over a period of time as short as a few days, or across several terms.
